Answer:
The Xylem of vascular plant consists of dead cells placed end to end that form tunnels through which water and minerals move upward from the roots
Answer:
1) In plants, water enters the root cells by osmosis, and moves into tubes called xylem vessels to be transported to the leaves. A continuous column of water is therefore pulled up the stem in the xylem vessels by evaporation from the leaves.
2) Root pressure, in plants, force that helps to drive fluids upward into the water-conducting vessels (xylem). It is primarily generated by osmotic pressure in the cells of the roots and can be demonstrated by exudation of fluid when the stem is cut off just aboveground.
3) 3rd answer is in the Attachment ↑↑
4) Define ↓↓
1) The upward movement of water from the root to aerial parts of the plant body is called ascent of sap or often called translocation of water.
2) A pull transaction is initiated by the creditor to take money from the debtor.
Q5) Osmosis is the process by which water molecules move from a weaker solution into a stronger solution through a partially permeable membrane.
Transpiration is the loss of water in vapour form from the leaves into air. It occurs when water is released into air.
Q6) It has two main functions: 1) cooling the plant and pumping water and minerals to the leaves for photosynthesis.
2) Plants need to cool themselves for several reasons.
Transpiration is an evaporative cooling system that brings down the temperature of plants, but since it leads to water loss, it must be accurately regulated.
Q7) As the relative humidity of the air surrounding the plant rises the transpiration rate falls. It is easier for water to evaporate into dryer air than into more saturated air. Wind will move the air around, with the result that the more saturated air close to the leaf is replaced by drier air.
