It is given that,
x-1 and x-2 are the factors of given p (x) .
so, x2 + (1+2)x + (1)×(2)
x2 + 3x + 2
Now divide the p (x) by this ...
You will get your answer ...
try it first then ask again ......
Now, on dividing it we get a remainder
x (a-5) +(b+2)
So,
a - 5= 0
a= 5
and b+2=0
b= -2
