a)25^x=5^(y-1)
(5^2)^x=5^(y-1)
5^2x=5^(y-1)
we know that if bases are equal then exponents are also equal
2x=y-1
2x+1=y let this eq be (1)
now consider (32)^y =4*8^x
(2^5)^y=2^2*(2^3)^x
2^5y=2^2*2^3x
2^5y=2^2+3x
=>5y=2+3x
=>3x-5y=-2 let it be (2)
now multiplying eq (1) with 5
then it will be 10x-5y=-5 let it be (3)
now subtracting (3) from (2)
=>3x-5y-(10x-5y)=-2-5
=>3x-5y-10x+5y=-7
-7x=-7
x=1
substituting the value ox x in (1)
then 2(1)+1=y
y=3
