Answer:- Option (a) 7.5Ω

Step by step explanation:-

Question:-

⟶ What is the resistance of circuit?

Solution:-

The very step of solving this is naming all the resistors with R₁, R₂, . . . . . . so on. Naming all the resistors makes it easy to solve.

Now,

From the diagram we have:-

  • R₁ = 10Ω
  • R₂ = 10Ω
  • R₃ = 10Ω
  • R₄ = 10Ω

From the diagram, we can clearly see:-

  • Resistors R₂, R₃ and R₄ are in series

We know,

Resistance in series combination is calculated as follows:-

  • Rₛ = R₁ + R₂ + R₃ . . . . . . Rₙ

Hence,

Resistance in resistors R₂, R₃ and R₄ is as follows:-

Rₛ = 10 + 10 + 10

Rₛ = 30Ω

Now,

  • We can see that Resistors Rₛ and R₁ are parallel

We know,

Resistance in parallel combination is calculated as follows:-

  • \sf{\dfrac{1}{R_p} = \dfrac{1}{R_1} + \dfrac{1}{R_2} + \dfrac{1}{R_3} . . . . . . . \dfrac{1}{R_n}}

Hence,

Resistance in resistors Rₛ and R₁ are as follows:-

\sf{\dfrac{1}{R_p} = \dfrac{1}{30} + \dfrac{1}{10}}

= \sf{\dfrac{1}{R_p} = \dfrac{1 + 3}{30}}

= \sf{\dfrac{1}{R_p} = \dfrac{4}{30}}

= \sf{R_p = \dfrac{30}{4}}

= \sf{R_p = 7.5\Omega}

The resistance across the circuit is of 7.5Ω

Hence Option (a) 7.5Ω is the correct answer.
