IUPAC name of H3C - CH = CH - CH2 - CH = CH - CH2 - CH3 is OCT - 2 , 5 - diene

Rules:

As there is double bond b/w carbon atoms, we will use -ene as suffix.

The position of double bond as a number should be written before it.

Then, Count the no. of carbons and name it according. Like 5 means pent.
