Solution:

Area of a triangle is given by the formula:

(b × h) ÷ 2

or half × any base × it's respective height (vertical distance of opposite vertex from that base)

taking, QR as the base, height is PL.

thus, area

= 1/2 x 4cm x 6cm

= 12cm²

also, taking PR as base, height will be QM.

So area

= 1/2 x 10cm x QM

= 5cm x QM

So, 12cm² = 5cm × QM

or, QM = (12÷5)cm

or, QM = 2.4cm
