Given length of two sides = 78dm and 50dm.

Let the length of the third side is x dm.

Given perimeter of a triangular field = 240dm.

= > 78 + 50 + x = 240

= > x = 112dm.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now,

Semi-perimeter of a triangular field = 240/2 = 120dm.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now,

By herons formula:

Area = :

 = > \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}

 = > \sqrt{120(120 - 78)(120 - 50)(120 - 112)}

 = > \sqrt{120 * 42 * 70 * 8}

 = > \sqrt{2822400}

= > 1680 dm^2

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Given length = 50dm.

Area = (1/2) * h * 50

= > 1680 = (1/2) * h * 50

= > 3360 = 50h

= > h = 67.2dm.

Hope this helps!
