Let the cost of 1 dozen bananas is c and can get d dozens of bananas for 840 Rs
hence,
(c+1)(d−2)=840
(c+1)(840c−2)=840
(c+1)(840−2c)=840
840c+840−2c2−2c=840c
c2+c−420=0
c2+21c−20c−420=0
(c+21)(c−20)=0
c=20,−21
Hence, the cost of one dozen is Rs 20
