given mean of the observation is 30 i.e. sum of the observations:

n1+n2+......+n11=30*11=330........(1)

also given mean of the first 6 observations is 40 i.e. sum of the observations:

fom eq's (1),(2),we get,

n7+...+n11=90(330-240)......(3)

and it's also mentioned that the mean of the last six observations is 44 i.e.

sum of the observations:

n11+n10+....+n6=44*6=264

n11+n10+...+n7=264-n6

n7+.....+n11=264-n6.........(3)

from the eq's (3),(4),we get,

90=264-n6

n6=264-90
