rate of work done = ?

we know that

work done = F d cos ∅     --------------------------------- (1)

where ∅ = angle between F and d

work done = F d       since ∅ = 0° ( force and displacement are in same direction)

work done = m g d       since F = mg

                   = 40 × 9.8 × 12

                   = 4704 J

                   = 4.704 K J

rate of doing work =  work done / time taken

                                 = 4.704 K J / 40 s

                                 = 0.1176 k W

                                 = 117.6 Watts
