let the number be  A B.  ,A and B are single digits.

A = 4 * B.
   So  B cannot be more than  2.  As  4 * 3 = 12 and is not a single digit.
   B = 0, 1, or 2.
 then  A = 0, 4 or 8.
So the number is  :  00, 41, 82.

reversed number:  00,14, 28.

clearly  82 is the number,  as  82 - 24 = 58.

another solution:

let the number be :    AB.     A is the tens digit.  B is units digit.
         value of the number =  10 * A  + B
         we are given,  A = 4 * B
           so value =  40 * B + B = 41 B

reversed number =  B A,          its value is :   10 * B + A  =  14 * B

The difference between two numbers = difference between two values
         =>     41 B - 14 B = 54
             =>  B = 2
       and so    A = 4 B = 8

the original number is  82.
