Nothing is wrong in the solution ..xD
Just the thing is, you didn't solve it further. I'll do it for you:
k^2 + 3k - k - 3k = 0 [Your last equation]
=> k^2 - k = 0
=> k(k - 1) = 0
=> k = 0, 1
Thus, the value of k can be either equal to 0, or equal to 1.
