Hey user

Here is your answer :-

The LCM of two consecutive even numbers is 180.

We know that

LCM of two consecutive numbers is there product divided by 2.

So

product of the numbers = 2 × LCM

= 2 × 180

= 360.

From the option

Only option C has product equal to 360.

so the correct answer is option C .

Thank you

Let the two consecutive even numbers be 2x and 2(x + 1).

We know that product of two numbers = HCF * LCM

⇒ 2x * 2(x + 1) = HCF * LCM

⇒ 2x(x + 1) = HCF(x,x + 1) * 180

⇒ 2x(x + 1) = 1 * 180

⇒ 2x(x + 1) = 180

⇒ x(x + 1) = 90

⇒ x^2 + x = 90

⇒ x^2 + x - 90 = 0

⇒ x^2 + 10x - 9x - 90 = 0

⇒ x(x + 10) - 9(x + 10) = 0

⇒ (x - 9)(x + 10) = 0

⇒ x = 9,-10{It should not be negative}

⇒ x = 9.

Now,

⇒ 2x = 2(9) = 18

⇒ 2(x + 1) = 2(10) = 20.

Therefore, the two numbers are 18 and 20.   ---- Option (3).

Hope it helps!
