Coordinates of vertices B and C are (3,0) and (-3,0) respectively.

AD ⊥ BC and CD = DB = 3
Hence D coincides with the origin.
Since ABC is an equilateral triangle, AB = BC = CA = 6 units

In right triangle ADB, (Fig. given below)

AB²  = AD² + DB²   [By Pythagoras theorem]

  6²   = AD² + 3²
  36  = AD² + 9
-AD² = 9 - 36
-AD² = -27
  AD  = √27
  AD = 3√3 units

Hence the coordinates of A are (0, 3√3)
