Taking it to be: y²-24y+128

=y²-16y-8y+128

=y(y-16)-8(y-16)

=(y-16)(y-8)

Even if y²-34y+128 is the given expression, we can factorise by using the quadratic formula, by which we get it as

 (y- \frac {34+\sqrt{644}}{2}) (y+\frac {34-\sqrt{644}}{2})
