a. Due to the prescence of toxic chemicals in the waste of factories it pollutes the pond. This effects the value of water and makes it acidic in nature . Beacause of this acidic nature this fishes (or) any other aquatic organisms cannot survive in this polluted water. So , gradually the fishes started die.
b. Water affected with factory waste can be treated using lime , CaCO₃ ( limestone ) and other bases which neutralize the acidity present in the water. In this way , the value of water also reaches to normal level. Hence , The water becomes normal .
