Given : Room with dimension 6 by 4 m

Circular tile with 50 cm diameter

To Find : Number of circular tiles along length

Total number of tiles

Area covered by each circular tile.

Solution:

Length of room = 6  m

1 m = 100 cm

Hence length of room = 6 * 100 = 1600 cm

Diameter of tile = 50 cm

Number of tiles along length = 600/50  = 12

Number of tiles along width = 4 * 100/50 = 8

Total number of tiles = 12 * 8 = 96

Diamter of tile  = 50 cm

radius of tile = 50/2 = 25 cm

Area of a circle = π (radius)²

Area of a tile =  π (25)²

π = 22/7

Area of a tile =  (22/7) (25)² = 1964.28  cm²
