a = (2-√5)/(2+√5) × (2-√5)/(2-√5)
rationalizing the denominator
a = (2-√5)²/(2)²-(√5)². (a+b)(a-b) = a²-b²
a = (4+5-4√5)/(4-5)
a = (9-4√5)/-1
bringing negative sign up
a = -(9-4√5) => 4√5-9

b = (2+√5)/(2-√5) × (2+√5)/(2+√5)
b = (2+√5)²/(2)²-(√5)². (a+b)(a-b)= a²-b²
b = (4+5+4√5)/(4-5)
b= (9+4√5)/-1
bringing negative sign up
b = -(9+4√5) => -9-4√5

a²-b² = (a+b)(a-b)
a²-b²= [(4√5-9)+(-9-4√5)] [(4√5-9)-(-9-4√5)]
a²-b²= (4√5-9-9-4√5)(4√5-9+9+4√5)
a²-b² = -18(8√5) => -144√5 is the answer
hope this helps
