Helen loved nature and it remained her inspiration throughout her life. She enjoyed witnessing life forms and nature. Ms. Sullivan made her study the growth of a seed into a plant. she made her feel and touch the shooting buds and lengthening sapling. She was also taught the growth of life forms with help of a tadpole. she admired the change of a tadpole into frog. She enjoyed the stages of growth in plants and animals. Her love for growth applied to her own life. She wanted to educate herself despite being different. she worked hard, went to college and became an activist supporting the education for the disabled. She became a distinguished citizen and national figure.
Her ambition to acquire education despite the disabilities was also the cause of frustration. She felt that she cannot get the things she want as easily as other people. This often involved a fight with herself. A very potent example is when her abilities were by Mr. Gilman, obviously he was only concerned about Helen, but Helen wanted to be treated like any normal girl and thus did not like her concern.
