Let x² = a

=> a² - 169a + 3600 = 0

=> a² - 144a - 25a + 3600 = 0

By Middle term splitting

=> 3600 = 144 x 25

Thus

=> a(a - 144) - 25(a - 144) = 0

=> (a - 25)(a - 144) = 0

Thus

=> a = 25 or a = 144

But

=> a = x²

Thus

=> x² = 25 or x² = 144

Thus we have

=> x = 5 , - 5 , 12 or - 12
