Age of A = 82÷3

Age of C = 44÷3

Given

C-D = 40---------(i)

A-B = 2 -----------(ii)

As A=D÷2 and B=2*C  

So equation (ii) becomes

(D÷2)-(2*C) = 2÷

Solving ,

D=4+4*C

Put in equation(ii)

C-(4+4*C) = 40

So , C= -44÷3

As age is not negative /so C=44/3

and D = 164÷3

Now A-B=2---------(i)

As B=2*C  put in (i)

A-(2*(44÷3)

A=82÷3;

B = 88/3;

Hence , A = 82÷3 and C = 44÷3
