Secant BA in contact with tangent TP out side the circle at point P.

Therefore,PT^2 = PA × PB ...[Tangent secant segment theorem.] (1)

Now, PB = PA + AB ...[P-A-B]

PB= 4 +5

PB = 9. (2)

From 1 and 2:

PT^2 = 9 ×4 = 36
