(1)

Given that ramesh can harvest a field in 16 days.

Work done by ramesh in 1-day = (1/16).

(2)

Given sohan and ramesh can harvest the field in 12 days.

Work done by sohan and ramesh in 1 - day = (1/12).

Work done by them in 8 - days = (8/12).

                                                    = 2/3.

So,

the work done by sohan in 1 day = (1/12) - (1/16)

                                                        = (16 - 12)/192

                                                        = 4/192

                                                        = 1/48.

(3)

They work together for 8 days and then ramesh leaves.

So, the amount of work done in 8 - days = 2/3.

Amount of work left(remaining work) = 1 - 2/3

                                                              = 1/3.

Now,

1/48th part of the work is done in 1 - day.

(1/3) of the part is done in:

⇒ (1/3) * 48

⇒ 16 days.

Therefore, sohan harvest the remaining field in 16 days.

Hope it helps!
