Solution :--

• Let numerator of the fraction = x
• Let denominator of the fraction = y .

Therefore, fraction = $\sf \: \dfrac{x}{y}$

according to first case :--

sum of numerator and denominator = 12 i.e,

$\sf \:\:\:\: \:\: \:\: \:\: \:\:\:\:\: x + y = 12 \: ............eq.(1)$

according to second case :--

denominator increased by 3 to the numerator then the fraction becomes half .i.e,
