let x be the side of the square.. from the question we can understand that EA=CF=x/3
for easier understanding draw altitudes of triangles DEF and FEB.

Then in triangle EAB, using pythagoras theorem,
EA^2 + AB^2 = 30^2
(x^2)/9 + x^2 = 900
10× x^2= 8100
x^2= 8100/10=810

x^2 is the area of a square..
