SOLUTION:-

Given:

•A village having a population of 4000 requires 150 litres of water per head per day.

•It has a tank measuring 20m×15m×6m.

To find:

The days will the water of this tank last.

Explanation:

We have,

  • Length of the cuboidal tank=20m
  • Breadth of the cuboidal tank=15m
  • Height of the cuboidal tank=6m

Formula: Volume of the cuboid;

Formula: (L × B× H) cubic units.

Therefore,

=) (20 ×15× 6)m³

=) 1800m³

•We know that, 1m³ = 1000litres

Then, 1800m³ × 1000litre

=) 1800000litres.

Water consumed by the people of the village in one day;

[4000× 150] litres

[600000] litres

Now,

Assume water of this tank last for R days.= capacity of tank.

=) R × 600000= 1800000

 =  > R =  \frac{1800000}{600000}  \\  \\  =  > R= 3 \: days

Thus,

The water of this tank will last for 3 days.
