⭐️ THREE TYPES OF PLATE MOVEMENT :-

1] DIVERGENT PLATE MOVEMENT : Seafloor spreading is identified as the movement of two oceanic plates away from each other. What results from this is the formation of a new oceanic crust. This crust forms from the magma that comes from within the Earth's mantle when the two plates split away from each other.

2] CONVERGENT PLATE MOVEMENT : Convergent Plate Movement is identified when two plates collide into each other at their margins or boundaries. Crusts usually change in size, which results from this type of movement. The results differ, depending upon what types of plates are involved.

Two Continental Plates: Mountain ranges are created.

Two Oceanic Plates:one may be pushed under the other and magma from the mantle rises, creating volcanoes.

Oceanic Plate and Continental Plate: The oceanic plate is forced under the continental plate; this phenomenon is called subduction.

3] LATERAL SLIPPING PLATE MOVEMENT :
Lateral Slipping Plate Movement is identified when two plates move sideways against each other. There is a tremendous amount of friction which results from such plate movement. The plates during the heavy amiunt of friction stick and then slip. When the pressure is finally released and the plates suddenly jer_k apart, this is an earthquake.
