ANSWER

LET THE NUMBER OF TREES PLANTED BY SECTION A BE X AND SECTION B BE Y.

THEREFORE ;

ACCORDING TO THE CONDITIONS

X = 5 + 3Y ------(1)

X + Y = 221

X = 221 -Y -----(2)

SUBSTITUTING EQ (2) IN EQ (1)

221 -Y = 5 + 3Y

221 -5 = 4Y

216 = 4Y

Y = 216 /4

Y = 54 ------(3)

SUBSTITUTING EQ (3) IN EQ (2)

X = 221 - 54

X = 167

SECTION A PLANTED 167 TREES WHEREAS SECTION B PLANTED 54 TREES

HOPE THAT HELPS

GIVE A THANKS

HEY MATE YOUR ANSWER IS HERE..

ACCORDING TO THE QUESTION

LET B HAD PLANTED = X TREES

THEN A HAD PLANTED = 3X + 5 TREES

NOW BOTH HAD PLANTED = 221 TREES

HENCE

X + 3X + 5 = 221

4X = 216

X = 54

THUS ,

VII B HAD PLANTED = 54 TREES

VII A HAD PLANTED = 54(3) +5 = 167 TREES
