1. This is because blood passes through the arteries in a very high pressure and if the walls are not thick enough, the arteries can burst open.
2. This is because arteries are very deep seated.
3. Blood passes through the veins at a comparatively lesser speed and pressure as deoxygenated blood passes through it in most cases. So they have thin and less muscular walls.
