this example shows that division is not associative

 \frac{3}{2}  \div ( \frac{1}{2}  \div  \frac{5}{2} ) = ( \frac{3}{2}  \div  \frac{1}{2} ) \div  \frac{5}{2}  \\  =  >  \frac{3}{2}  \div ( \frac{1}{5} ) = (3) \div  \frac{5}{2}  \\  =  >  \frac{3}{2}  \times 5 = 3 \times  \frac{2}{5}  \\  =  >  \frac{15}{2}  \: is \: not \: equal \: to \:  \frac{6}{5}

so, associativity is not under division
