Given:

  • AB & CD are two lines intersected by the transversal PQ and meet the lines at L & M respectively.
  • ∠ALP = 130° & ∠CMQ = 60°

To Find:

  • Weather AB and CD are parallel or not

Proof:

As, PQ is a straight line

∠ALP & ∠ALM are Linear Pair Angles

WKT, Linear Pair Angles are Supplementary.

→\;{\sf{∠ALP + ∠ALM = 180°}}

→\;{\sf{130°+∠ALM = 180°}}

→\;{\sf{∠ALM = 180°-130°}}

➝\;{\bf{∠ALM = 50°}}

As, ∠ALM and ∠CMQ are corresponding angles

WKT, If the lines are parallel corresponding angles are equal.

But, Here ∠ALM(50°) and ∠CMQ(60°) are not equal

So, AB is not parallel to CD
