 \longrightarrow \tt 12 \: (49)cm ^{2}

 \Longrightarrow \tt 588cm ^{2}

Question:-

Find the lateral surface area of the cuboids whose dimensions are:-

i) Length = 24 cm, breadth = 25 cm and height = 6cm

ii) Length = 16m, breadth = 25 cm and height = 4m

Required Solutions:-

i) Given:-

  • Length = 24cm
  • Breadth = 25 cm
  • Height = 6cm

To Find:-

  • Lateral Surface Area

Solution:-

We know,

Formula for lateral surface area of a cuboid is:-

\sf{2(Length + Breadth)\times height}

Hence,

\sf{LSA = 2(24 + 25)\times 6}

\sf{LSA = 2\times 49\times 6}

\sf{LSA = 588\:cm^2}

Hence, The Lateral Surface Area of the cuboid is 588 cm².

ii) Given:-

  • Length = 16m
  • Breadth = 25cm
  • Height = 4m

To Find:-

  • Lateral Surface Area

Solution:-

Here we can se that the units of the dimensions are different. Hence we need to make all the units equal. We will convert all the units into m

Length is already in metre units.

Breadth is in cm units. Hence we need to convert it into metre by dividing the value by 100

Breadth = 25 cm = \sf{\dfrac{25}{100}} = 0.25 m

Height is also in metre units.

Hence, now we can find the lateral surface area.

\sf{LSA = 2(16 + 0.25)\times 4}

\sf{LSA = 2\times 16.25\times 4}

\sf{LSA = 130\:m^2}

Hence the Lateral Surface Area of the cuboid is 130 .

Other formulas related to cuboid:-

  • Volume = Length × Breadth × Height cu.units

  • Total Surface Area = 2(LB + BH + HL) sq.units

  • Here L = Length, B = Breadth and H = Height.
