let x  and y be cost of 2 watches.given x+y=600------------->1

given there is a profit of 25% on on watch i.e., cost price of watch which costs x now costs (125/100)x

Hence cost price of watch which costs x rupees now becomes 5x/4 rupees

given there is a loss of 25% on watch i.e., cost price of watch which costs y now costs (75/100)y

Hence cost price of watch which costs y rupees now becomes 3y/4 rupees

given sp of both watches were same.

hence we get 5x/4 = 3y/4

                    =>5x-3y=0--------------------->2

on solving 1 and 2 we get y=375

and x=225 which were cp of two watches
