as the passenger lower part is in close contact with the bus as the bus was running his lower part and upper part is in the motion due to inertia of motion as soon as the driver apply the barkes the passenger lower part is in close contact with the bus comes to rest due to inertia of rest while his upper part is in the motion due to inertia of motion and his upper part moves forward and leaving his lower part and tends to fall forward.
the fan rotates for a while even after it is switched off because due to inertia of motion it resist in it's change of state.
