let the sum is P
then P+I= 2400 rs
but I = prt/100
=P×2×10/1000
=P/5
so P+I=2400=P+P/5
2400=6P/5
OR 12000=6P
OR P= 2000
then P+I= 2400 rs

=P/5
so P+I=2400=P+P/5
2400=6P/5
OR 12000=6P
