SOLUTION:-

Let x be set of all the families

Let A be the set of newspaper who reads A

Let B be the set of newspaper who reads B

Let C be the set of newspaper who reads C

we are given the following:-

n(x) = 10000 = 100%

n(A) = 40%

n(B) = 20%

n(C) = 10%

n(A⋂B) = 5%

n(B⋂C) = 3%

n(A⋂C) = 4%

n(A⋂B⋂C) = 2%

refer Attachment for venn Diagram

% Families reads only singal newspaper = (ABC)'

(A⋃B⋃C)' = n(x) - (A⋃B⋃C)

= 100% - (40% + 5% + 20% + 3% + 10% + 4% + 2%)

= 100% - (84%)

= 16%

The % of families reads only single newspaper = 16%
