1.Write the equation first..

MgCO3=MgO+CO2

2. Write the molecular masses..

MgCO3=84,MgO=40

3. Thus from 40MgO we get 84MgCO3 and vice versa…

so from 8gm MgO we get 84/40*8=16.8gm

wen

MgO +CO2= MgCO3

40g MgO =84g MgCO3

8g MgO=x

x=84×8/40

=672/40

=16.8
