let the total no of people be x
A/q= 3/4×x=36
x=36×4/3
x=12×4 = 48
total no of people are 48.
total no of men =(48-36)=12

Males=(3x/4)-36
Therefore
3x/4 +(3x/4)-36=x
2(3x/4) -36=x
3x/2=x+36
3x=2x+72
x=72
total people=72
no. of males =(3x/4)-36
=3×72/4 -36
=18 males
