Let the two parts be x and y.

= > x + y = 4500

= > x = 4500 - y  ------ (1)

Given that 5% of the first part is equal to 10% of the second part.

= > 5% of x = 10% of y

= > 5x/100 = 10y/100

= > x/20 = y/10

= > (4500 - y)/20 = y/10

= > 10(4500 - y) = 20y

= > 45000 - 10y = 20y

= > 45000 = 30y

= > y = 1500.

Substitute y = 1200 in (1), we get

= > x = 4500 - y

= >x = 4500 - 1500

= > x = 3000.

Therefore, the two parts are 3000 and 1500.

So other part will be ( total - x ) that is ( 4500 - x)




According to the question :


5% of first part x = 10% of other part ( 4500 - x )


5% of x = 10% of ( 4500 - x )

$= > \frac{5}{100} \times x = \frac{10}{100} \times (4500 - x) \\ \\ \\ \\ = > \frac{5x}{100} = \frac{45000 - 10x}{100}$



Removing or multiply 100 from or on both respectively ,


= > 5x = 45000 - 10x

= > 5x + 10x = 45000

= > 15x = 45000

= > 15 × x = 15 × 3000

= > x = 3000






Hence,

Parts are :
First part = x = 3000
Second part = ( 4500 - x ) = ( 4500 - 3000 ) = 1500
