=====================

1)

=> Total number of workers = 100

 = > \frac{13}{20} \text{ \: were \: \: male} \\ \\ = > (1 - \frac{13}{20} ) \text{ \: \: should \: \: be \: \: female} = \frac{7}{20}

So total female =  \frac{7}{20} \times 100 = \bf \underline{ 35}

2)

=> Total money Adi had = Rs 50

 = > \text{he \: spent \: } \frac{2}{5} \text{th \: of \: it} = \frac{2}{5} \times 50 = Rs \: \: 20 \\ \\ = > \text{he \: was \: left \: with}(1 - \frac{2}{5} = \frac{3}{5} ) \text {of \: it} = \frac{3}{5} \times 50 =Rs \: \: 30

3)
=> Let the fraction be x

=> another fraction =⅜

=> product = 4

So..
 = > \frac{3}{8} \times x = 4 \\ \\ = > x = 4 \times \frac{8}{3} = \bf \underline{ \frac{32}{3} }

So the required fraction is 32/3

4) Let the number divided be y

=> dividend =2¼ = 9/4

=> quotient = ⅔

So
 = > \frac{9}{4} \div x = \frac{2}{3} \\ \\ = > x = \frac{2}{3} \times \frac{9}{4} = \bf \underline{ \frac{3}{2}}

So the required number is 3/2

5)

=> last number = 3

=> Total number of ¼ = last term/¼

= 3/¼ = 3×4 =12

6)

In 1 day, Bimal walks 4¼ km = 17/4 km

In 12 days, bimal covers = 12 × 17/4 = 51 km

7)

Let total number of bottles required be a

=> each bottle can contain ¾ litre milk

=> Total milk = 5¼ litre.

So.

 = > a \times \frac{3}{4} = 5 \frac{1}{4} = \frac{21}{4} \\ \\ = > a = \frac{21}{4} \times \frac{4}{3} = \bf \underline 7

Hence 7 bottles can be filled or required.

8)

=> total salt to be bought = 5 kg

=> 2 packets of ¾ kg is bought = 2×¾ = 3/2kg

=>left over = 5 - 3/2 =7/2 kg

=> Let k number of packets of ½ kg be bought.

So..
 = > k \times \frac{1}{2} = \frac{7}{2} \\ \\ = > k = \frac{7}{2} \times 2 = \bf \underline7

Hence 7 packets of ½ kg salts are bought.
