Solution-------> ATQ,

=> ( a / b )² + ( b / a )² + 1 + 1 - 1

=> ( a / b ) ² + ( b/a ) ² + 2 - 1

We know that , 2 = ( a/b ) ( b/a ) , putting it , we get

=> { ( a / b )² + ( b/a )² + 2 ( a/b ) ( b/a ) } - 1

Now , we know that ,

( p + q )² = p² + q² + 2pq , using it , we get ,

( p² - q² ) = ( p + q ) ( p - q ) , using it , we get,
