Given Quadratic Equation -

=> 2x² - 2√2 x + 1 = 0 .

To find -

Find the roots of the equation .

Solution -

=> 2x² - 2√2 x + 1 = 0

=> 2x² - √2 x - √2x + 1 = 0

=> √2x ( √2x - 1 ) - ( √2 x - 1 ) = 0

=> ( √2 x - 1 )( √2 x - 1 ) = 0 .

=> ( √2 x - 1 )² = 0 .

Thus , the roots of this equation are overlapping .

Roots -

=> [ √2 x - 1 ] = 0

=> √2 x = 1

=> x = 1 / √2

=> x = { 1 / √2 } × { √2 / √2 }

=> x = { √2 / 2 } .

Thus , the roots of the equation is { √2 / 2 } .

This is the answer .

.
