Explanation:

our ears have a liquid stored in the cochlea. this liquid along with several tiny bones like hammer, anvil and stirrup and a flap like structure called eardrum picks up vibrations from the surrounding and transmit it to our brain using auxillary nerves. In this way we can hear.

Friction is a so called force which acts in the direction opposite to motion. We can increase friction on a surface by vigorously rubbing and scratching the surface , by creating grooves to increase the grip etc. We can reduce the friction on a surface by applying oil , grease, bearings etc so as to make the surface smooth.
