Number of turns of wire = Height of cylinder/ Diameter
Multiply both sides by 2πr
Notice that 2πr is the length of wire in one round.
So, 2πr × Number of turns should be the total length of wire.
Therefore, 2πr × Number of turns = 2πr × Height of cylinder/ diameter
=> Length of wire = Curved surface area of cylinder/ Diameter
(Because 2πr × height is Curved surface are of cylinder)
=> Length of wire = 2 π (12) (5) / 0.3
=> Length of wire = 376.8 / 0.3
=> Length of wire = 1256 metres.
Density = Mass / Volume
8.88 = Mass / { π × (0.3/2)² × (1256) }
Mass = 787.979 grams.
