ANSWER

QUESTION 1

How could this be rewritten using only the associative property of multiplication?

(12 x 3) x 5 =

Associative property .

a×(b×c)=(a×b)×c

Solution.

(12×3)×5=12×(3×5)

verification.

(12×3)×5=12×(3×5)

 2 x (15) and = 6 x (5)

= 30 = 30

This means that 2 x (3 x 5) = (2 x 3) x 5 is right statement

QUESTION 2

2. How could this be rewritten using only the associative property of multiplication?

(10 x 3) x 7 =

SOLUTION.

(10 x 3) x 7 =10×(3×7)

30×7=10×21

210=210

This means that (10 x 3) x 7 =10×(3×7) is a right statement.

Question.3

4. What property is being used in the following equation?

4 x 3 x 6 = 6 x 3 x 4

Associate properties of mutiplcation numbers

and commutative property

REASON

a×(b×c)=(a×b)×c

so 4 x 3 x 6

(4×3)×6

=> using commutative property

(a×b)=(b×a)

=(3×4)×6

using associative property

= 3×(4×6)

=3×(6×4)

=(6×3)×4

=(3×6)×4

Using associative property

=( 6×3)×4

= 6×3×4
