8 ➡ Characteristics of prokaryotes are as follows :-
they are unicellular
they donot have a well defined nucleus.
they have freely floating dna.
usually their size is less than a nanometer.
The absence of nucleolus and mitotic apparatus.
9 ➡ Multicellular organisms are made up of millions and trillions of cells. All these cells perform specific functions. All the cells specialised for performing similar functions are grouped together as tissues in the body. Hence, a particular function is carried out by a group of cells at a definite place in the body. Similarly, different functions are carried out by different groups of cells in an organism. This is known as division of labour in multicellular organisms.
10 ➡ Cell is the basic structural and functional unit of an organism as in unicellular organism a single cell is able to perform all the functions like respiration, excretion etc..

8--->
The prokaryotes are characterized by:
(i) The absence of a membrane around the nuclear material
(ii) The absence of clearly defined membrane-limited organelles like mitochondria, chloroplast, Golgi complex and lysosomes.
(iii) The genetic material is located on a single chromosome which consists of a circular double strand of DNA.
(iv) The basic protein-his tones, which are one of the most important constituents of chromosomes of eukaryotic cells, are absent in prokaryotic chromosomes.
(v) The absence of nucleolus and mitotic apparatus.
(vi) The cell wall is non-cellulosic, being formed of carbohydrates and amino acids.
(vii) The plasma membrane which lies below the cell wall is produced into the cytoplasm and acts as the mitochondrial membrane carrying respiratory enzymes, and
(viii) The cytoplasm neither exhibits streaming nor the amoeboid movement.
10--->
Cells as Building Blocks. A cell is the smallest unit of a living thing. A livingthing, whether made of one cell (like bacteria) or many cells (like a human), is called an organism. Thus, cells are the basic building blocks of all organisms.
9--->
The body of a multicellular organism has cell as a basic structural unit. The cells organised to form tissues such as blood, bone, etc. The tissues organised to form organs such as heart, kidney, etc. The organs then organised to form organ systems such as digestive system, reproductive system and respiratory system, etc. The various organ systems of organism get arranged to form a complete individual.
