Explanation:

To Find -

  1. What happen when an aqueous solution of lead nitrate and potassium iodide are mixed with each other.
  2. write the balanced chemical equation for the reaction which takes place
  3. state the physical conditions of reactants in which the reaction will take place
  4. Name the type of chemical reaction occurs.
  5. Give one example of another reaction which is of the same type as the above reaction.

Solution :-

1)

When an aqueous solution of lead nitrate and potassium iodide are mixed with each other then it forms potassium iodide and potassium nitrate.

2)

Chemical equation -

Pb(NO3)2 + 2KI → PbI2 + 2KNO3

3)

In reactant :-

Compound⠀⠀⠀⠀physical condition

Pb(NO3)2 [Lead nitrate]⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀(aq.)

KI [Potassium iodide]⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀(aq.)

In product :-

Compound⠀⠀⠀⠀physical condition

PbI2 [Lead iodide]⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀(aq.)

KNO3 [Potassium nitrate]⠀⠀⠀ (aq.)

4)

This is the type of double displacement reaction.

5)

Another example of double displacement reaction :-

AgNO3 (aq.) + NaCl (aq.) → AgCl (s) + NaNO3 (aq.)
