1. Equinox = The are the special dates when the days and nights are equal . This occurs twice an year First in summer and second in winter. Which occurs in winter is called vernal equinox ( March 21 ) and in summer called Autumnal equinox ( September 23 ).

Solstice = These are the dates when either the days are longer than nights or the nights are longer than the days. This occurs twice ...in winter called winter solstice ( December 22 ) and in summer called summer solstice ( June 21)

2.Perihelion = The shortest position of earth from sun is called perihelion. The earth reaches it's perihelion on January 3rd when earth is at a distance of 147 million km.

Aphelion = The farthest position of earth from sun is called aphelion.The earth reaches it's aphelion on July 4 every year , when earth is at a distance of 152 million km.

3. Rotation = The movement of earth on its axis is called rotation .

Revolution = The movement of earth around the sun is called revolution.
