So, the amount ( volume) of water displaced will be equal to the volume of the body immersed in water.

So weight loss = 450 - 310 gf

= 140 gf

As per the principle the upthrust will be equal to the loss in weight of the body.

Therefore upthrust = loss in weight

= 140 gf.

Finally the volume of body

= loss in weight / density of water

= 140 / 1

= 140 cubic centimeters (cc).
