Explanation:

As the two 8 ohm resistors are connected in parallel,

1/R = 1/8 + 1/8 = 2/8 = 1/4

Effective resistance R is 4 ohm.

a)Now 4 ohm resistor is in series with this combination of resistors whose effective resistance we just found out to be 4 ohm.

So R = 4 + 4 = 8 ohm

V/I = R (ohm's law)

I = V/R = 8/8 = 1 A

and as current remains the same for resistor connected in series, current through 4 ohm resistor is 1A.

b) V = I × R = 1 × 4 = 4 V

c) P = VI = 4 × 1 = 4 W

d) Difference between the ammeter readings won't exist as both are connected in series with the circuit and thus will recieve the same current as the other.
